Spontaneity

I decided we need some spontaneity in our lives. Now that the kids are getting a little bit older, I feel that we have room for more spontaneity. Before now, I am not too sure that we are laid back enough to allow that word in our vocabulary and lives. Baby steps, we are on our way to being spontaneous! Ha.
On Sunday, I decided we needed to go on a trip. 10 a.m, I booked the hotel, and by 1:30 we were packed and on our way. We decided to go spend the night in Columbus for some time away together as a family.
I had some ulterior motives: Filene's Basement, H&M, Easton Shopping Center. Basically, Columbus is Chicago shopping without Ikea. Really.
Our other activities involved swimming in the hotel pool, a child favorite, and Monday we visited the Santa Maria ship in Columbus. This is a replica of Christopher Columbus' flagship. For a small fee you get an approximately 45 min. tour of the ship. Jude LOVED this activity, and I think Lily enjoyed it too. They both did an awesome job listening and touring the boat.
All in all we had a great time. We must add more weekends like this into our schedule.

pretty soon you'll have IKEA too. So your days of going to Chicago might be over? :)

Nah.

Glad you guys had fun!

Oh fun! I can't wait for the days we can do things like this. I'm really dying to go canoeing with the kids!
