I have a gym membership that I have been paying for, yet I don't go. I really hate the gym. I Don't like to drive there and come back. I prefer to be outside, but I can't do that all of the time. So I have improvised by finding stuff I can do at home. I HATE aerobics. Most aerobic classes I spend the majority of the time trying to figure out how to do that move. I was not a dancer, cheerleader etc.. so I am highly uncoordinated in that department. Jazzercise seems like a nightmare for me. So when I can't or don't want to run I have two workouts that I like doing at home.
Inhale with Steve Ross. This is Ashtanga Yoga to modern music. Steve is funny and has variations for every yoga level. It is hard, but enjoyable. I like Ashtanga Yoga.
If you have The Oxygen Channel, it is on every morning at 6am.. for me I TIVO it ... then do it.
My other favorite is Total Body Sculpt with Gilad. It is totally cheesy, yes, but it works for toning (and you sweat). All you need are a few hand weights, and you can do it. It is on FitTV, 1030 and 1830. Again, TIVO.

We have a membership at Silverlake in Kentucky. I really enjoy it but I find I use the pool (for the kids) much more than I use it to work out. Now Marty uses the gym portion quite a bit.
One thing we did do this time was get a 6-mo. membership. In the past we (me) have had memberships, gone 4 or 5 times and then just dropped off the face of the workout planet.
