As I mentioned in a previous post, we went chicken nugget free in our house last year. We rarely give the kids hot dogs, and occasionally we order pizza (2-3 times a month). I make them eat what I make for the meals, unless it is spicy. Our rule is that you have to try everything. At least two bites. If you don't like it, then fine, don't eat it. You do not have to clean your plate. We buy low sugar jam, the Skippy Natural Peanut butter, whole grain breads, Barrilla pasta, organic milk. We just want them to have a good start on making smart choices. We do keep sweets in the house and occasionally they have chips and we do go to Mc Donalds (although I HATE it and usually just sit there...yuck)!Give me Wendys or Burger King any day!
Anyway, I think my kids eat pretty well. Jude was praised by his Kid's Club teacher for choosing oranges over cookies. That's pretty much him, he is a good kid, a pleaser. He really could have been left alone in a room at 18 months and I wouldn't worry about him doing a thing wrong. Lily, however, would rather eat cookies or any sweet over fruits or vegetables any day. She eats her carbs before anything else on her plate (Jude's the opposite). And you can't leave Lily alone... she climbs, writes on the walls, unrolls ALL of the TP, etc... you get the picture.
So one night Jason left Lily in the kitchen and this is what he found: Yes folks, that would be at least 20 Hershey Kiss wrappers! She managed this in about 10 minutes..... Big chocolate ring around the mouth.
So, Jude will make all the right choices and Lily will be in the closet stuffing cookies in her mouth.

That is too funny! I'm with you Lily! I'm a closet chocolate addict too.
