I was recently thinking of attending one of these dinner preparation stores. I know there are many franchises out there, even here in Cincinnati. Dream Dinners is the franchise nearest to me, in Blue Ash. There menu looks great, and the price is right, as well as the caloric intake.
It would be around $200 for 12 meals that feed 6. Now who are we kidding, they really mean feed 4 (in my portion size). Regardless, the price is right. My problem, freezer space. So I set out to find a solution to dinners ready at my house, especially on days that I work. I am frequently ordering a pizza or making breakfast food (or just the SAME OLD, SAME OLD) because of time restraints. We became chicken nugget and convenience food free in our home last year for nutrition reasons.
MY SOLUTION? I purchased a programmable crock pot and preplanned my menu for 2 weeks. I wrote down each dinner for each night on the calendar so that Jason and I both knew what was to be made that night.
This pre planning also cut costs on my grocery shopping because I was so prepared. So, I have created my own dinner preparation, although I don't think it is a "dream" dinner.

Can I come over to your house and pay you to put together some non-dreamy Crockpot dinners? I am seriously lazy, but still need to eat.
Oooh, give me some recipe ideas. That sounds like a great idea!
I wish I could be that organized, heck- I wish I could cook.....
I did do Dream Dinners once. It was nice. And I keep telling myself I need to do it again. I also need to get out my crock pot more... I always forget about it.
