She's crafty and she's just my type. She's crafty.

I know a lot of people who scrapbook, stamp and do all kinds of CRAFTY, creative things. Guess what? I am NOT crafty. I have tried to scrapbook, yeah Jude's is still on the 5th page. I had grandiose ideas of capturing both child's first year in scrapbook form. Not happening. I have never stamped. I have watched my friend Tara stamp. (I really thought this was sooo geeky the first time I heard about it.... sorry stampers...) She really creates some cool looking stuff. I had NO IDEA. I have also watched these really creative mom's and the crafts they do with their children, like this mom (who puts us all to shame) www.frontporchgirl.blogspot.com.
I can not measure up to being crafty. I have come to the conclusion that if I don't enjoy it, it is another job. That's OK. I do not enjoy scrapbooking, and I wouldn't enjoy stamping either. I would like to do more crafts with the kids, so when they have a greater attention span and I more patience, then we can. I shall steal ideas from others and create them. Above are some pictures of our holiday crafts. The pumkins... not so enjoyable, not a great memory for anyone... much of a disaster. The gingerbread house was fun. A good memory. Thing I learned of myself that I need to let go of during craft time....... CONTROL FREAKNESS. Perhaps that will be my New Years Resolution.

I have been meaning to start Cassie's baby scrapbook for seven months now. So far, I have done one page. What is wrong with me? I think it's a perfectionist thing. I want her scrapbook to be perfect, but I don't have time for perfect. Therefore, I am perfectly unproductive. Maybe I'll do it over Christmas? Ha, who am I kidding?
