I was going to post my cutesy Halloween pictures of the kids today, but I decided not to because I have a bad attitude. A bad attitude about being a mom and did I mention I HATE THE TIME CHANGE AND THE DAMN DARK AT 5:30????
Earlier today I decided that I couldn't post cutesy because today, I hated being a mom.
I was sick of the demands for food. Wouldn't it be nice if your meals were made for you? Wouldn't it be nice to complain about it and then have it cleaned up for you?
I was sick of being a mom maid.
I was sick of hearing Jude say "right mommy?" after EVERYTHING he says.. Seriously.. it grates on your everlasting nerve by the end of the day.
I was just sick of being a parent. You know. It isn't like you can take the day off.
I didn't want to fold the laundry, or discipline Lily for drawing on the wall (AGAIN).
So there it is, I couldn't be cute or happy or positive.
Then I was loathing the fact that I had to go and watch my friends 3 kids this afternoon.
LOATHING.
I don't mind doing it, she does it for me. I just wasn't in the mood, because I was hating parenting today.
So we went to her house to watch the kids.
This is going to sound cheesy, and stupid, and cliche', but I had fun when I got there.
I spent one hour on the trampoline with 5 kids.
I sweated my a** off and laughed and tickled and had fun.
Plus I peeded myself (you know... post birth... woman jumping... I KNOW TMI.. oh well.)
So then, I didn't mind being a mom/parent.
I know. Totally cliche'.

We all have our days. Even days where we pee a little (I say mid-coughing fit--you know what happens then...)
Parents really should get vacation days from being parents. I had a half a one on Saturday and boy was it terrific.
You aren't kidding.
I try to take a vacation once a year AWAY from my kids and husband.. not that i don't love them.. but it is necessary.
I feel you. Even moms need sometime off. What I love though is that when I am having a really bad day, they'll do something that just changes my mood.
Perhaps we should organize a Mommy's Day Off.... We could all go get manicures, pedicures and cosmo's one afternoon.....
I am up for that...!!!!!!!!!!!
