A friend of the family's niece (1 year old) has been diagnosed with AML. It is a form of childhood leukemia. She is in Children's Hospital now receiving aggressive chemotherapy.
She may need a bone marrow transplant.
The family is hosting a blood drive, but more importantly a bone marrow transplant match test.
This involves only swabbing the inside of your mouth.
It is hard to find a match.
You can be swabbed to see if you too could be a match for her or others.
This will take place on Friday, August 24th, from 12:30-6:30pm at HJ Benken Florist and Garden in Kennedy Heights.
