Do you know where you can put your Longaberger basket?

Maybe I am mean or too opinionated, or both, but there are certain people that put me over the edge. My friend Carrie and I took our kids to see the Butterfly show at The Krohn Conservatory. It is a cheap venture (and you don't stay long ; )... and knowing this we packed a picnic lunch for us and the kids.

Getting back to my annoyances, a mom told Lily she was going to crush the butterflies to stop touching them.

1.OK, so every kid is touching the butterflies. They are flying freely in the building.

2. I am standing RIGHT there watching Lily like a hawk because she is a terror and would crush one if she had the option. However, this time she was reaching out to touch it not kill it.

3. Watch you own kid lady. I am sure they aren't perfect.

So, I just take Lily elsewhere because I can't say anything nice. I try to adopt this method so that I don't get in trouble.

We take our picnic lunch to the field behind the Conservatory. It is AMAZING how three kids can occupy themselves in a empty field. They had a blast.

Now we have: Jude who is almost 5 and Lily and Casey who are almost 3.

They all have decided to play with big sticks. Since Carrie and I are OK with this (and there are no other kids around them) we let them.

Our only rule: the moment someone hits the other one with their stick.. it is over. They agree (ha) and amazingly enough.. they didn't hit one another. They hit trees, the ground, leaves.. and occasionally pointed them at us to "shoot" us. Yes, your boys will pretend guns no matter what you do.

SO, down the hill there are 4 ladies (3 which have babies and one who has what appears to be an 18 month old and a 3 year old boy) picnicking. One lady brought her lunches in a Longaberger basket. (that should have been our first clue...).

So their 3 year old boy is VERY interested in the stick play of our kids.

So what do we hear.. LOUD enough for us to hear? They were pretty far down the hill...

Don't go over there. I don't like what they are playing. Cue evil look to Carrie and I.

I can't WAIT until her boy shoots her with a stick.

Oh yes, I have already seen Karma come back to people who judge.

No worries there :)
