WHY?

Two reasons for this post.

Number 1. I do not get why people wear these shoes!? Take it from a nurse who wears (and has worn) shoes of this nature for 9 years. They are ugly. I wear them to work and I don't spend too much money on mine.. only enough to keep my back and legs from aching because I am on my feet all day. I don't spend a lot (and NO I don't wear "Crocs") because I get gross stuff... spear you the details... on my shoes. So when these became popular, I just thought.. my god the designers have lost it and they have made nurses shoes popular! They aren't even cool with the charms.. or whatever they are.

Number 2. So the other day Jude tell me... Mommy, I want a pair of Crocs. WHAT?

My response.. do you know what they are? Yes he does. And he wants them.

It's because he has older kids at the sitter that talk about them. So yes, I guess name brands start here.. almost 5 years old. Dear god.

Did I get him the Crocs? No. And he hasn't asked since. I'd buy them if he pushed the issue.

I checked out the cheap ones, but they are that, cheap. They are made out of styrofoam, I swear. But, nonetheless, he will be Crocless!

Oh and if you thought they couldn't get any uglier.. .they have combined the old "duck shoes" with Crocs..

And there you have it.

UGLIER.

A girl at my office loves Crocs. I think they are awful. Aren't they designed for gardeners too?

I think so, they do look like gardening shoes too.

I used to always dislike them - Keith thinks they are ugly too. But they must have worn me down this year because for the first time I was actually just thinking the other day...well, maybe a RED pair might be cool.

I guess if its around long enough I'll like it! (except minivans) :)
