There is a new grocery opening in Kenwood, The Fresh Market. I have watched this building going up for months as I drive Jude to school. I have wondered what the The Fresh Market was going to be, and I feared for Trader Joe's (b/c I love Trader Joe's). Trader Joe's is next on my favorite list after Costco. On Sunday I had the pleasure of shopping atThe Fresh Market in Oakley. This grocery store is a mix between Wild Oats and Whole Foods. I managed to walk out of their with $50 of random grocery. The produce is great, and it isn't all overpriced organic like Wild Oats (I am not a Wild Oats fan). They have unusual, hard to find ingredients. Their organic milk was cheaper than Trader Joe's. I will definitely go back to shop. They don't have enough wine or frozen food to give Trader Joe's a run for their money, so I am OK with their devious location down the street.
You must check it out. Karri... there is one near you : )

Oh the Fresh Market - my mother's favorite place. She goes in once a day (I'm not kidding) and they probably yell "Norm!".
I love the Fresh Market too. I agree with you on Wild Oats too - it was too expensive and a bit too "vegan-ish" for me.
My mom's secret to Fresh Market - they give away free coffee every day. I think they put it near the deli counter - anyway she loves to get her coffee and sip on it while shopping.
The best thing about Trader Joes: $3 Buck chuck.
Seriously, if you haven't had Charles Shaw wine (only availalbe at Trader Joes) then you are missing out. It is the best $3 you will ever spend on a bottle of wine.
Good to know there are fellow obcessed people out there besides me.
I love food and I am obcessed about the places that sell it..
LOSER.
Oh well..
I do occasionally indulge in the 2 buck chuck. I get lost in their staff picks of wine more often.. great prices there too...
Pine Mountain Pinot Noir...
I too have been eyeing the construction of that Fresh Market. But I like what you have to say about the Oakley store. Perhaps when the Kenwood one opens, I'll do a little TJ's, a little Fresh Market, then Kroger for diapers, etc.

I was wondering about this store last night when I was visiting Old Navy. I never noticed it before. Who has time to shop at TWO grocery stores? Did you find that extra hour in the day...what's the secret? The kids are lucky I go to one at all...LOL!
